Honouring our heritage through action

As Joyous Celebration reflects on its musical journey and the impact it has made over the years, African Bank is proudly celebrating its own milestone — 50 years of service, growth, and transformation. Our history is deeply tied to the resilience of South Africans, and this partnership serves as a symbol of how far we’ve all come.

Our passion as African Bank is to celebrate South Africans from all walks of life. The history of the choir, a group founded to celebrate the political change in our nation, resonates strongly with our own heritage as a bank for the people, by the people, serving the people.

Together, we’re not only celebrating — we’re building. Through this collaboration, African Bank is hosting community activations across KwaZulu-Natal alongside Joyous Celebration and the cast of Uzalo, bringing joy, inspiration and value to the people we serve. These activations are one more way we put our purpose into practice.

Giving Back Through CSR

As part of our ongoing commitment to community upliftment, African Bank will be undertaking a series of impactful Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives during the Joyous Celebration partnership period:

• 15–18 April (all day): CSR activities, including a beach cleanup, carnival of giving, and a Farming Project Handover
• 16 April, 10h00: Official Durban launch at our Durban Office
• 16–19 April (all day): Ongoing brand and branch activations to bring the African Bank experience closer to communities

These initiatives are a direct reflection of our promise to Advance Lives — not only through banking but by taking an active role in the upliftment of the communities we serve.

Audacious Rewards: Fueling everyday progress

We’re also using this opportunity to give back through our Audacious Rewards programme. A celebration of culture, faith, and community

The Joyous Easter MegaFest and Rewind, held at Durban’s Inkosi Albert Luthuli ICC, brought to life everything this partnership represents — faith, unity, and the joy of shared heritage. The Rewind performance offered fans a chance to relive the most iconic moments from past albums, while the live performance of Joyous 28 showcased the group’s continued creativity and connection with audiences.
