How PayShap works
- With PayShap, you can make payments or be paid instantly using a registered ShapID or bank account details.
- With a ShapID, there is no need to remember your account details, only your cellphone number.
- You can receive money into your bank account by giving someone your cellphone number (Primary ShapID).
- Alternatively, you can pay or be paid instantly using your account details.
How to register a ShapID
- Log on to your App and select ‘Payments & Transfers’.
- Select ‘PayShap’.
- Select ‘Your Bank’.
- Register your ‘ShapID’.
- Select the ‘account’ you would like to use.
- Fill in your details, and tap ‘Continue’.
- Verify your information, accept the Ts&Cs, and tap ‘Continue’.
- You have successfully registered a ShapID.

How to make a PayShap payment on the Africanbank App
- Log on to your App and select ‘PayShap payment’ to make a payment.
- Select ‘Your Bank’.
- Select ‘How you would like to pay’.
- Select ‘Who would you like to pay’.
- Enter the ‘ShapID mobile number’ or.
- Select ‘ShapID linked bank’, and tap ‘Continue’.
- The recipient ShapID will be verified.
- If recipient ShapID is verified successfully, you can proceed with ‘Payment.

- Log on to online banking and select ‘Payments & Transfers’.
- Select ‘PayShap’.
- Select ‘PayShap payment’ to make a payment.
